My hatch is over - 14 little fuzzbutts hatched over the last couple of days. There is one that I had to assist and he's not doing well. He has a very distended abdomen and while he's drinking and pooping, he's clearly not like the others - his abdomen is very swollen. Is there anything I can do for the little guy? He doesn't seem to be in pain, although clearly he isn't moving around like the others. I was hoping the swelling would go down, but it's been over 24 hours and it's no better.
I probably shouldn't have helped him out of his shell, but he was peeping like a madman for such a long time that I had to go in once all the others that had pipped were hatched out. It's my first time with a sick baby chick and it's soooo hard...
