If you ordered black sex links, that's a cockerel. Personally, I'd probably cull it and dissect it. I'm not sure what you'd keep a cockerel for except eating, and I'm not sure the bird will grow and be worth eating.

Well be real careful when you drain it since we don't know the biohazard level of the fluid inside. f this is an egg within an egg and there is a chick growing in there and the original chick is about 3 weeks old, would the incubating chick "hatch" its way out of the 3 week old chick?

Ideal's been good at sexing for me, too. But black sex link females are not barred. Black sex link males are barred. That's just genetics. So either the chick is male, or it's not a black sex link.

Eager to hear result. Bless it's little chicky heart. Our farm vets in the area don't charge but like 15 dollars a visit for a chicken. Check your local vets maybe they can help you out.

Personally I'd get it checked out by a vet if he's fine in every other way. It could be something as simple as edema which is pretty simple to sort out. I don't go running to the vets every 5 mins but if its active n healthy in all other ways I'd get it looked at.
