fat dissolves fat (my dad never spent money getting those expensive commercial dissolvents...just took a glob of butter/margarine and it worked great>he then used dishwahing soap to get rid of the butter)
... from veterinary resources for this problem:
"...To remove asphalt or sticky traps used to control or monitor insect and rodent populations, polysorbate 80 containing cremes may be used, but butter may be equally effective and much less expensive. Alternatively, a mechanic's hand degreaser (e.g., Goop

) may be quite effective. These agents may also be effective in removing oil-based paint from animals. Naturally, this is followed by a thorough bath. "

Last summer we had a similar thing happen. I went in the coop..and noticed one fly trap was missing...hmmm...now where did that go?? Then I heard it....in the corner, was a BAT all wrapped up in it. Poor thing...it was scared, and very sticky. So I get the leather gloves..and start unwrapping...my biggest fear was tearing the tender skin flaps. Luckily for me, and the bat...GOOP WORKS. Within an hour or so...our little batty friend was sitting on top of a ladder...not very happy...but free.

lol...thanks for the advice and the support...aside from a little humiliation, my Show Girl is none the worse for wear-
in fact, I couldnt even pick out which one it was without looking really hard....(maybe I could dangle a piece of fly paper and see which one runs away...)

Sorry, no pictures of Chicken ala Peanutbutter Roses...

Well, they work to catch chickens- but there was only about three dumb flies on it...the rest of the flies are laughing at me, "Stupid Human thinks we are dumb enough to go to the fly ribbon..."
