Hi! My buff Brahma is acting very strange. She’s been isolating herself and picking at her feathers a lot and sticking her tail up like this and falling asleep.

Any thoughts? She’s lethargic and won’t eat or drink and is wobbly when standing

When was her last egg?

I'd check on her crop to make sure it's emptying overnight. If she's not laid an egg and should have, give her 300mg Calcium Citrate+D3 now, then once daily for 7 days.

Look her over for lice/mites since she's picking at her feather a lot. Take note if she's starting to molt when you inspect her.

I would try to encourage her to drink, she needs to be hydrated. Give her sips of sugar water or electrolytes. Once she's drinking, offer some wet soupy feed. You can also provide bits of watery treats like watermelon or tomato.

She hasn’t laid in quite a few days. And I checked for mites and bugs and don’t see anything. Her feathers are getting pulled out by our rooster being a little too attached to her.

I don’t have calcium and d3 on hand but have poultry booster so I’ve added that to water. Is there a brand you recommend that I can order or go to the store and get asap?

Is she starting to molt perhaps? They have their first big one around 18 months old. They may be listless, lie around more, and don’t eat a lot. You can give her this calcium, which is a good buy:

She's like sequestering herself in a corner and napping and very wobbly and loosing balance. I did the calcium thing, but it doesn't seem to have helped really. I felt her vent area and didn't notice an egg stuck there and also checked her crop. She wont eat or drink anything. Mareks or Cocci?

Hold old is she exactly? I would keep offering some scrambled egg, bits of tuna, mushy wet chicken feed, and plain water up to her beak. Dip her beak if you need to. Poultry Nutridrench or Poultry Cell 2-3 ml can be given daily into her beak, but do that after she eats. Older hens usually have some resistance to coccidiosis. Mareks shows up in younger birds usually, but not out of the question. She is probably dehydrated and hungry, could be hurt, and may be starting to molt. Get fluids into her, then food, and perhaps separate her for a day or two away from the rooster. He also could be separated so he gives the hens a break.
