Help, chicken attacked by dog.

So i checked on her this morning. She was drinking. Yeah. I sprayed her again and gooped on more neosporin. But i noticed when i put her back in the box she was going over some over feathers. Then made a eating noise. What happen if she eats some of the neosporin. It does drip a little because i put so much on.

That's great that she is drinking

You may want to reduce the amount of neosporin that you are applying. As it heats up from her body heat, it will drip. I don't think a tiny amount ingested would be harmful, if you can, blot or wipe off the excess that is on her feathers.

Thanks. I was thinking that by using the neosporin it will loosen the feathers so I might be able to pull them off. I think I'll just slowly work them free. I think I'm going to pick up some gloves so that I can spread it on better.

Large gobs of neosporin are fine. It won't hurt her if she did eat a small amount. She won't need quite as much water, since you are wetting her feed. In a couple more days, if she continues improving as she has been, try her on normal feed, and water. Yes, the neosporin should help loosen up the stuck feathers, but I'd give it at least one more day of healing.

So I’ve added updated pictures. This is her from this morning. My question is will she eventually scab over with the feathers glued on or will they keep her from scabbing over. She has a couple of bumps of tissue that i don’t know what will happen with. She’s eating and drinking really well and using the grit provided. Also she layed an egg this morning too. She just started laying a month ago. She’s about six months old.

A little bit but not all the way. I was think about getting some saline this weekend and spraying to try to get them off. Or would that be too traumatic for her. It makes me nervous.

That sounds like a good idea. It may stress her out a bit but you know it will help her feel better and help her heal.

You don't have to use saline. Warm washrag compresses should do the trick, along with the neosporin, or vaseline.

If they won't raise very easily with the Vetericyn and Neosporin, most likely they won't with saline. From what I can see in the photos, the wounds look like they are healing nicely. I would be inclined to leave the feathers be - I think as she scabs over more and new feathers come in, the stuck ones will resolve themselves.
