I was lying in bed when I heard my chicken crying from there coop, I rushed into action where I found my silky 5 month old attacked by an unknown animal. I have no idea what attacked him because it was too dark, and chased it off as I appeared. (Happened around 2 Hours ago and its 5am now est) he's Badly injured with his wing torn off. The bone is exposed and I don't know what to do... I have five chicken in total all different breeds so luckily I stopped the attacked before it killed him or the others, I Put peroxide on him and tried to bandage him up but Im at A loss for words, please tell me what i should, or can do..

I put a gauze or bandage on him and left his other wing out, not sure if that's ok but I wanted him to be able to at least streach the other one. (It wasn't injured) I cleaned with peroxide and put some Neosporin on him... But not sure what to do about the exposed bone.

(A picture will be included as soon as he calms down)
Sounds like it could have been a raccoon attack.

There are a number of threads on BYC about similar injuries - you may find this one, for example, helpful: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/204479/please-help-wing-ripped-off-by-raccoon.

Just a reminder - if there was a security flaw in your coop that allowed a predator to get to your chickens, you'll want to address it to prevent future attacks. I hope your roo recovers from the injury.

I think it was a raccoon also... It sounded quite heave as it ran through the dead leaves on the ground, not quick like a cat. But a picture is up now.

.
The best thing you can do is keep it moist not wet so it does not get gangreen. Make sure you bird stays hydrated and feed well. And hope for the best. Depending where you live you may be able to find a bird or farm vet that can help you. so unfortunate so sorry

I'm in the city and money is tight.... Unfortunately I don't think a vet around here specializes in chickens.

What's nesosborne? Is it possible for the skin to grow over the bone again...
