Hi,
We need hel as we are new to this. We have an almost four month old chicken who has stopped walking. At first it was one leg (thought she injured it but couldn't see anything) and now it is both legs. We've given electrolytes and antiotocs but no change. She is eating and drinking fine and poop looks normal. She just can't walk. Thoughts?

I am having the same problem with 2 of my 4 month old hens as well. I am up in the air between meriks and botulism.
Did it come on suddenly or was it progressive?
I hope both of our posts gets answered as I would love to find out what is going on.

It was progressive. I don't think it is Mareks because she was vaccinated. But I really have no idea.

How are your birds doing? Did you check them for worms? I had a hen with capillaria and cecal worms, and it resulted in paralysis, and eventually death.

I just acquired a 5 month old d'uccle hen with mobility issues. I was told that she seemed to injure her leg 2 months ago, and it has progressively gotten worse. I brought her to a vet on Wednesday, and he feels that her knee joint is shot. There is too much movement in it.

Honestly, I'm not convinced that it is only her knee. The way she flails around and struggles to move suggests something else, but I have no idea what.
