HELP CHICKEN COMB IS TURNING PURPLE!!!

I'm confused...one minute she is fine next she is not....maybe it's both sour crop and heart failure... can't give her a small dose of baby aspirin?? just thinking if it is heart troubles would aspirin work like it would in humans...just want her to live :'(

No..but she was cough sneezing when I brought her in...to be honest I don't think she is going to make it. I decided a recheck of her and her crop is still the same size her comb keeps going purple than back to normal and now she has a soft lump between her legs , but i dont know if it is normal I have never had a reason to check...but whatever it is...its i going to probably kill her...sucks and I'm done getting chickens when all of them have past away..I won't be getting more... I care too much and it breaks my heart something terrible when I can't save one... I wish I actually knew what was going on for sure...no chicken vet here. My kids were extremely upset and expecting me to save her...when I think I should end her pain. Thank you! :hugs

Most of us lose chickens eventually to reproductive issues or crop problems. It is very sad when we cannot do anything to help them if it is a fatal problem. It has helped me to do a necropsy on my birds who have died, to get a look at the things that may have gone wrong. Many take pictures of their findings and post them here for comments.

UPDATE: Lovey the hen still has a big crop after no food yesterday...I have massage it twice..with no progress...I have read that you can force a chicken to get sick..I have never done it nor have I seen it done. I don't think I should try that seeing how you can kill a chicken this way...plus I feel something like eggshells inside her crop... which I'm sure it could cut her throat if she regurgitates wrong. I also noticed as well when I was massaging her crop that her comb would turn to normal color... With that being said I'm thinking it must be pushing up against her windpipe. 'causing her not to get enough oxygen. Just my thought..thank you everyone!
