Welcome to BYC :frow

To develop such a big swelling in just one day seems almost impossible, unless it is caused by some insect bite or sting.

How does it feel when you touch it? Soft or hard, hot or normal?

I would start by looking inside her beak to see if something sharp or pointy got stuck or if you can see any kind of white or yellowish adhesions.

Then check her ear to see if there might be an infection/bad smell etc.

How old is she?

Is this chicken shaking their head and scratching at their ear? That may indicate pain and infection.

If there is no head shaking or scratching, it may be this is an insect bite and there is an allergic reaction. Get children's liquid Benedryl and give .5 ml to this chicken. You may repeat the dose once after 24 hours, but that's all. This should reduce the swelling and resolve the issue.

No shaking of the head or scratching I will go get some Benedryl now and try that and see if it helps
