She fell out of a tree last night and landed in between briar patch and fence. We thought she was dead but is very much alive, she moves her legs and wings and head but when put on her feet she falls over. Nothing seems to be broken or cut but she tries to walk and pitifully falls on her head. I haven’t been able to get her to eat or drink yet but has no problem pecking at me. I have her quarantined for her safety. She was laying and fine yesterday. I don’t know if an owl tried to get her in the night or what happened to her. All the chickens were going crazy last night but she wasn’t found until this morning.

:welcome Sorry for the problem. Hopefully her feet are not frozen and she is just experiencing muscle strain. Does the rest of the flock go into a coop at night? The owl will be back. They are as relentless as weasels and will continue to return as long as food is available.

Didn’t actually see anything, just speculation because all the girls were squawking. Do you think they would have been making the fuss because she fell and they were trying to help her out?? I don’t know what actually caused her to fall out of the tree. She and a few others refuse the coop and fly up the tree where we can’t get them at night fall.
