HELP.. chicken is skin and bones

Could be so I am teaching her for it and did a Corid drench. I will get higher protein feed tomorrow. None of the feed stores are open today :hmm

I wanted her to eat something so she did eat some bread and now is sun bathing so hopefully the NutriDrench will bring her appetite up too.
Bread actually can cause other issues..Feed is best..Goid luck.

I am having this same exact problem with my barred rock hen. I think your hen sounds worse off than mine though. My hen is still eating and drinking but she is skin and bones and having foul smelling diarrhea. Everything she eats just seems to come right back out undigested. I noticed her toes were swollen on both feet and she was limping. He toes were full of pus. I have been trying a multi level approach to save her. Gave a wormer, have been giving tylan 50, started her on fish mox. Started adding apple cider vinegar to the water and giving some probiotics (kefir). I also have been soaking her feet and applying Prid drawing salve to try and draw the infection out of her feet. So, far she is hanging on but I do notice she is getting very tired now after eating and laying down a lot more. I am hoping she will pull through this. She is currently 3 pounds and she should be more like 6 pounds. I hope you get some helpful suggestions here and that your chicken pulls through. Keep us all posted.

Could it be worms? I think Corid's a good guess.
Make her some mush from feed and water. See if she'll eat that.

I would not give ACV or probiotics with antibiotics. They might make them useless.

@MLG1900 The one that is giving me concern is a Barred Rock too... just saying a weird coincidence. I hope your girl pulls through too. Have you tried NutriDrench? That may help her energy and hopefully eat more.

Well my girl had a little more energy which could be due to the NutriDrench. I checked her about 15 minutes ago and her crop has food in it so she must be eating. I did give her some tuna, she ate a little but she is very wary of me. She did not appreciate me giving me the NutriDrench and Corid..... rather her hate me and be alive ....

Bread will not cause issues unless it is fed in massive amounts OR in too big of a piece.
