Sorry to hear about your missing birds, hope they turn up soon. And you really should notify the authorities about your property being vandalized.

Are you sure SOMEONE broke the barn windows? I mean, you did say they went missing during a pretty bad storm, is it possible that a limb or some other debris is responsible for that?

Not that a person wouldn't be capable of doing it, I've read plenty of threads where that's been the case and they're pretty heartbreaking. If you really do suspect it was people, maybe you should invest in a game cam or two? Without some solid evidence, I don't think there's much the police can do for you. If you caught someone doing something naughty on video or in a picture though, that would be a whole different story.
