Hello. Needing some desperate advise, my beautiful pekin has been sick for about 2 months. Shes not getting better and for a while she didn't seem to be getting worse until recently.

Symptoms:
Lathargic, sleepy all the time, pale comb and wattle, can not stand, keeps falling to left side and sliding right leg out, laboured breathing, making cluck noise when breathing out, not eating or drinking, crop a bit mushy but not ballooned up mushy, goes in to a mad preen but only while pooping.

Treatment so far: Antibiotics when she got sick earlier on for a week or two but then stopped as she started getting diarrhea. Currently has electrolytes in her water.

No discharge from beak or nose. No obstructions to be seen down throat. No sign of mites. No sign off worms in poop. Pale legs, but no dead tissue on legs or under feet except for what seems like a pressure sore from sitting all the time (image attached).

Her poops seem to be healthy, I've attached images for second opinions. Last week she did an occasional very green one, but it might be due to the green seeds I've been putting in her food? Have not seen it for a while.

I've had to force feed her every morning and every night, shes currently on a parrot blend with chick feed mixed with water. She will sometimes drink when I bring a spoon of water to her beak.

My next thoughts might be she has sour crop, I haven't smelled anything strong from her mouth only her crop seems bit mushy. Shes been pooping very well though so I'm not sure if there are any blockages in that manner. Should I start her on a blend of yogurt?

Bellow are images. There aren't any vets in town who seem to know about chickens. Any advise or direction will be very appreciated.... please help my poor girl :(

Thank you.

Thank you.
To rule out sour crop, take her food away at night and check her crop first thing in the morning. Her crop should be empty. Hope she gets well!!:fl:hugs

What antibiotic did you use and exactly how much?
Have you ever dewormed your flock?
What were you feeding before she got ill and any new birds brought in recently?

Thank you for responding! Just went to feel her then as it has been a while since her last feed, can't feel her crop so that rules it out.... shes so skinny though! :hit
How much are you feeding and how often? Are you tubing it into her crop?

I used the antibiotic imaged below which was recommended to me, I used 1/8 teaspoon to 250ml of water. We had brought in new birds to which we learned the hard way about quarrentining as we lost 2 birds after that... everyone has since been wormed and showed no signs of illness in the past 2 months. This girl has not been wormed though, should I start her on that? I've attached an image of the wormer I have.

I am feeding her about 1/4 cup of the mix I mentioned above twice a day. I am pushing it in to her beak and she proceeds to swallow, sometimes she needs encouragement. Should I increase the intake?

Sorry forgot to adress one question. I was feeding them chicken seed mix with grit and vegetable scraps.

This is dangerous. If you are forcing it and it goes into her lungs you can kill her.

I would not dewormed her right now, that could push her over the edge too.
I am not familiar with either of the two products you have on hand, I am going to look them up.
Bbs
