Help chicken with red membrane

My favorite chicken who is young and I think ready to start laying, this morning starting having this red membrane pop out when she pushes. it is almost like she is trying to lay. It does go back in. Can anyone tell me if this is normal when a chicken starts to lay for the first time?

Sounds like a hemroid to me, but I don't know if chickens get them. Sorry...

Check her, feel to see if its hard. It could be an egg and if she still hasn't been able to pass it you may have to intercede. A picture would be very helpful.
