HELP! Chicken won't walk?!

Hi you guys, it seems like the problems with my chickens never end aha...

I know when it comes to chickens you are going to lose a few, and out of the 10 I have only lost 1.

But now one of my chickens refuses to walk, he was eating and drinking just fine until today, it's been about three days,

I've looked at the bottom at his feet and it doesn't seem to be bumblefoot.

I have no idea what to do..he looks sad and he is just sitting in one place, so I placed the food and water in front of him.

None of the others are picking on him or anything.

When I pull on his legs he seems to get a bit irritated, but no more than any other chicken.

Also his skin seems to be bright red, like too much oxygen in him red if that makes sense.

Does anybody have any idea what to do? The chicken is about a month and a half old.

Was he vaccinated for Mareks disease? I would give him some electrolyte water with vitamins in it. SaveAChick or Rooster Booster brands are easily found at farm stores. Can he stand if you sit him up? Do either of his legs feel limp or paralyzed? Try tempting him to eat with some egg or canned tuna, and moisten his feed with water to make it soupy.

No he wasn't vaccinated, I'm raising chickens for an FFA project and my teacher never said anything about Mareks.

I've recently just found out about it through research on here.

When I pick him up and stretch his legs he squawks, so they aren't paralyzed, but they do feel quite limp.

And no when I sit him up he just falls down, and sometimes he leans to the side, like he doesn't ebven have the will to straighten himself.

We have fed him egg, and he hasn't really ate much.

We already have rooster booster in the water, he looks very sad, I'm afraid if he doesn't show any signs of getting better I might have to cull him.

The chicken passed away a few days ago, we brought him inside and made sure he was comfortable, he was just getting worse. He passed in his sleep, thank you everyone for the help.

Sorry for your loss. Mareks is something that remains in your environment for many years, at least 7 years. If you see odd symptoms in another chicken, I would definitely get a necropsy done to find out if it is Mareks. Many other diseases or injuries may look like Mareks, but with Mareks, it can be infectious to other chickens at a chicken show or fair.

Sorry you lost him. I think Marek's is possible, but it could be other things as well. Sadly, only time will tell. If another one dies, I would look into sending him to a lab for a necropsy.
