Help-chickens with "moldy" looking tail feather

Hi,

We have 5 hens and three of them have what sort of looks like a "moldy" grayish color on the tips of their tail feathers. Any ideas on what this could be? We are new to hens. They are 15 weeks old. We clean the coop and run weekly and they dust bathe regularly...reading and reading but not finding anything specific for this.

Pics, please. From your post it's almost impossible to tell what you're dealing with.

Do you have orpingtons not that it matters,often you will see moldy type markings on feather tips not a desirable trait,but does happen,some of my buff orpingtons have this.

Yes! Both Buff Orpingtons have this as well as our Golden Sex Link. Attaching photos.

Totally normal,nothing to worry about,some of my girls have the exact same markings.

Nothing to worry about,your birds are perfectly healthy.
