I had the 6 week old keets in the coop in a seperate area to get a little bigger before incorporating them with the chickens. I came home this evening and noticed they escaped. I ended up finding them under the coop which is penned in. The issue is the weather.
It is starting to get quite cold out there. The temps will drop to 45 degrees.
I tried to cover the area with a blanket around the coop to the ground to keep drafts out but I am worried my three keets will freeze in this weather. They are in the furthest corner with hardware cloth enclosing this area under the coop. If they decide to come out, I left the pop hole door open so they could go back in but I don't think they will.

I am worried about them.
Any suggestions???

try a treat or something maybe? they should come out in the day time with out a problem just watch for them.

and they should make it thru the night at 6 weeks it takes pretty cold temps to kill a guinea.

Did they come out?

I had the same problem. Mama hen was content to sit in the coop with 1 keet under her while the other seven were underneath the coop. I took the one away from her and then put her outside so she would call them to her.

It got really cold last night- 45 degrees. Around midnight I went out and turned on a heat lamp so it was aimed at them in the corner under the coop they were hanging out. This morning, they did come out to eat and drink. They appear fine. My next challenge is getting them before dark tonight into the coop. I am going to catch them and get them back into the pen in the coop so they are not going to get picked on.
