What chicken should I get?
I am allowed 6 chicks.
But I feel like I am in a candy store.

I really wanted bardrocks but they're all out.





Speckled Sussex, Prairie bluebell, Sapphire gem, Black Australorpe, Dominique, Blue laced wyandotte, Black jersey giant

I love Dominiques! They are so fluffy, sweet, and beautiful. They are also the only one of your choices with a rose comb. A great addition to any flock, in my opinion.
I like them better than Barred Rocks.

I also voted for Speckled Sussex. Their patterns are lovely and they have some iridescent feathers. A couple pictures of my Sussex:

You're right! That's the egg box. It's actually a cat litter box (Nature's Miracle hooded litter box). It works very well for chickens. Because it is so enclosed, they feel safe and comfortable in it.

That is really smart. I just use a box.
