Oh ok thanks for help, it's sad they he just been dumped, apparently one of neighbours moved recently and could of been there chicken left behind.

I think he is a variety of game bird also - I'm no expert . When he feels more at home with you, I'm sure you will be feeling the same about him.

I wouldn't worry about getting more birds, I'd just let him do his thing. Yes, he may miss having other chickens, but one animal of a species can be pretty content with other species for company. It's not quite the same as your own kind, but it can make for a pretty good life.
