Help!! Coop door fell on pullet’s head

Can you slowly syringe some fluids into her or hold a shallow cup up to her beak to help her drink? I would add some poultry cell or poultry nutri-drench to the water if you have it.

Hopefully the incoordination is just because she's keeping that one eye closed. Once you have her hydrated, offer her some wet feed. You may be able to hold a little bowl for her or mine like it hand fed LOL Make the wet feed about the consistency of oatmeal. Bit of scrambled egg may be tasty to her too.

UPDATE: Rose is up, walking, making little sounds and FINALLY eating on her own.

But I’ve yet to see her drink any water on her own. I’ve been giving her droplets from a syringe every few hours. I’m wondering if she just doesn’t like or can’t see the small water feeders.

The only lasting injury seems to be to one eye - it’s a bit cloudy and she keeps closing it and favoring her other. Anything I should be doing here?

I’m thinking we’ll put her out this morning and see how she does back with her sisters.

Thanks for all your advice and support!

Can you get some photos of her eye?

I'm glad that she is doing so much better! She may drink and eat better with the others you never know. If you put her back, I would hang out for a while to see how she does and see if they are going to pick on her.

Yes, we’re thinking we’ll put her back when I’m home this afternoon and can keep an eye on her. If it looks iffy we’ll bring her back in for another night.

I’ll try to get a picture when I’m back home in a couple hours!

Sometimes a knock on the head can result in permanent or temporary blindness. In this case, since the eye is turning cloudy, I'd say it might be permanent. But remember that it was an accident, and it's quite obvious that you love this little cutie.

She’s doing so great! I got a picture of her eye. It’s not cloudy anymore but it is goopy. Should I be giving her any kind of drops? Something I can get at a farm store?
