Help! Coturnix quail escaped how can I find it?

I went inside...Idk how much chance of finding him there is now.

I feel so bad...the poor boy is out on his own, and he's going to get rained on more tonight and something will probably eat him...all because I opened the door. Is there anything else I can do?

I think your best bet is to set a trap and get out of there. If he isn't tamed, your presence is just going to cause him to stay hidden unfortunately. hormones and companionship will lure him back towards the flock where you should be able to catch him with a trap.

A pool net would work perfect to catch them. And if you can get them to fly a several times, they should be worn out by then. And you should look into getting jumbos. They can't fly worth a darn.

Yeah, maybe I should have jumbos...
I can catch him fine I just dont know where he is....

No updates... he's still out there somewhere. I did not set a trap because we have a skunk who comes around often and we didn't want to trap it.

Not really, we think we heard him crow last night so maybe he's still alive. I'm hoping he'll come back to the hutch.
