#4 buckshot is what ya want not to be confused with #4 shot which is a largish bird shot more likely to be used on water fowl or turkeys. Number 4 shot is great on possum and raccon size stuff at coop length or run length distances but you are unlikely to get that short a shot at a yote the 4buckshot is similar to several 22's all fired at once and will drop a coyote efficiently out to 40 or 50 yards.
