Help! Cracked Duck Egg

I'd love to know what ended up happening!

Hi Just Rosie and Dani4Hedgies, very sadly this little bub died. She survived about three or four days after moving to the incy as far as I can tell - although it was obvious that development had completely slowed or stopped in that time. I did an 'eggtopsy' which was super interesting - I actually wish I'd taken a photo. The bub had a little beak and hair... Very upsetting.

The lesson here is - as soon as you see any tiny crack or hole, wax or seal them somehow straight away. I left things to nature, but the egg was weakened from the initial crack, and when the chook knocked it, the resulting hole went through the membrane... And it was all over after that. I have four more rescued eggs in the incy though - all going well!
