Should I add water to the bator? The humidity has gone down because I opened it. Can it hatch on it's own if it gets more humid and the membrane softens?

total novice here but have heard wrap the rest of the shell in a damp paper towel and put it back in the bator to allow blood vessels more time to dry out : /
