Hi please can someone give me advice, this is my first incubation and I followed the rules of turning eggs, right temp & humidity and now it's day 24 and still no signs of chicks hatching. On day 21 I slowly opened up a egg and the chick was alive (later died) :(
However it had not fully absorbed yolk sac and it looked like a day 18 chick not day 21 so I candled the rest and they all look a live. But I don't know what to do I'm worried what if the have internally piped and are stuck, I'm really worried about my them. Should I leave them alone and wait or try and make a little hole to see what's going on.

What was your temp like? If you have low temps then that could cause a late hatch. My advice is as long as they're alive, let them hatch on their own terms.
They can live up to 3 days on the nutrients in the eggs, and if you're really worried you can scratch a small hole in the big end of the egg. But sometimes they really are best left alone.
Good luck!

Hi thanks for replying, temp was kept at 37-38'c I think I'm gonna take your advice and wait I don't want anymore to die, this is so nerve racking

I'm not really sure. I accidentally killed a chick once by opening it up too soon. One method I've heard of is putting the egg in a glass of warm water and seeing if it moves. Even if it doesn't move though, it could be sleeping.

What were your humidity levels like? Sometimes they go 25 days.
