I just picked up a new chook and I just felt her abdomen and it is all soft.

How do I know if this is waterbelly?

She’s only 3 months old but Google seems to say age isn’t a factor when it comes to this. How do I know for sure? Do I need to feel for her breast bone or anything to identify it?

It feels exactly like I have read… a very soft squishy balloon.

I’ve only had her for 2 days and she’s in quarantine, which is obviously affecting her natural ways. So I can’t tell you much about her behaviour, but she’s very quiet. She barely moves in the pen but I thought she was just sad…

Pictures?
Water belly is usually like a firm water balloon, & very extended.
