Help! Double yolk egg at 10 days!

Out of my 12 doubles only 8 doubles started developing in the first week (two never set and two became singles with only one developing embryo). Lost another 2 a week later and by lockdown I only had 3 doubles and 2 singles left. In the end none of the doubles pipped

The loss of those last babies was extremely hard on me emotionally and it took me a few days to get over because you get so involved with them. Fingers crossed your babies make it!! However be prepared

It is a rare occurrence. Usually, one embryo out competes the other and only one chick survives to hatch Many time both embryos die before hatch.

Best of luck to you. For me, incubating and hatching is stressful enough with normal eggs, so I would not consider trying with double yolkers.

Ok, only one hatched 4 days earlier than I expected! Two others are hatching as we speak so apparently I can't count.

I had an accidental double a couple years ago. Both chicks were alive until day 12, from there, I'm not really sure. One chick hatched and currently lives a healthy life. Best of luck to you!
