HELP DUCK FEATHERS FROZEN!

Could still be oily wax @sourland what do you think?

Natural oils or dander seem like a possibility.

Sorry just can’t imagine what else it could be if yellow unless the wax from the preen gland sometime If you haven’t already hold one of your ducks and look down top of back where tail meets body you’ll find the preen gland you should see yellow around it.

I think, that's good enough for me. I have thickened the straw for them and they are enjoying playing in it. I think they will be fine however I'm gonna have to do hourly checks on them just in case. They seem fine at the time. Thank you so much for your help! I will surely check their glands.

Dry bedding, shelter from the wind, and they should be fine if not soaked to the skin. Good luck.

[Muscovy-palooza]

Our white male muscovy often has yellow on his feathers. I wondered what that was. He also often looks like his feathers are wet and aren't repelling water. The pic shows a slight sample of his feathers not looking like the other ducks. Is that common?

Maybe it has something to do with being white because I had 3 white Muscovy females who never had feather quality like the colored ones . They also got wet feather at end of summer before molt in fall.
