I woke up this morning to find a tick right above my 3 week old mallard duckling's bill. What do I do? I want to remove it but how?

the best way I know to remove ticks (how I do it on my kids) is to unscrew them. Use fingers or tweezers (or for the ones too tiny to grasp, I use medical tape folded in half around it so as to make a handle), and turn them around and around a few times. It doesn't seem to matter which way you turn, they will let go and you'll have all the mouth parts intact. Pulling straight out is quicker but I you are much more likely to leave mouthparts in the skin.
Again, this is what I do with my kids... never tried it on a bird.

What I do with my cats and dog which I actually learned from a vet is to take dish soap and rub it around the tick where its attached to the body then give it a few seconds once it tastes the soap it will let go so be prepared to grab it with some tweezers. If you have to really pull on it then use some more soap otherwise it should come right off. Head included.
