My first duck hatched today, day 26 after pipping yesterday. It appears that the yolk sac is not completely absorbed and it still attached to the shell. The duck is alert and pretty chatty. She lifts her head up and looks around. What do I do? Do I let her lay there and hope it absorbs or do i intervene in some way?? This is my first experience with hatching eggs. As I'm typing this it seems like she's trying to stand up. The other eggs in the incubator only have internal pips so far so I'm guessing this one is just early. What should I do?? Thanks for any help!

Just leave it to sit, it may not be fully developed and hopefully, it’ll scab up, and heal on its own. But if it survives 48hrs, dries off and acts normal, I think it will be completely fine.
