HELP DUCK IN SHOCK I THINK

Sounds like shock to me. Keep him warm and humid, but not too warm. I like to give mine a hot water bottle because they dont get too hot and the bird can move away from it if they choose, its gentler than a light for warmth. I know its hard, but he may do better with a friend. Its just utterly tragic when this happens Im so sorry, I hope Pablo will pull through for you. This is how we learn...If he recovers well then he will want outside time again at some stage so I hope you can sort out something secure.

A little sugar water cant hurt either. Sometimes I give mine a bit of sugar water or baby porrige, something easy to eat. If he is depressed and not wanting food, keeping him warm, quiet and putting energy boosters in his water is all you can do.

I've been giving him sugar water
When I pick his head up it does not flop back down. He gingerly places it back down.
The drooling worries me tho :-/
However I'm scared to get another duck I have hopefully taken care of the problem as of last night but who knows how many more animals there are waiting for him.
Also I rent so I can't make alterations to the duck area :-/ although I give him free range of my screened in back porch.
He will sometimes hold his head up and flap his wings or start to flap his wings then stop but after its right back to the head down thing

He has no injuries I checked him allll over. The only injury he has is a very very small scratch in his leg. It's shorter then a pinky nail clipping.
He has been inside since I discovered what happened and he'll stay inside from here on out.
He is sort of drinking water but then he drools a bit. A moment ago it appeared as if he had begun to show interest in his food again. Only a little tho and just a few nibbles.
I am going to try the towel donut thing tho and hope he stays in the contraption.
If he doesn't then at least you tried. Your doing all you can now with support, when shocky they don't want to eat or drink so showing signs of interest is good . Just keep offering it to him a little at a time. Hopefully he'll come through, it's amazing to me that both attacks he made it through. with only a scratch. please keep us updated on his progress.

I have no idea how he was spaired
After the first attach he was slightly shaken but for the most part still normal in personality just a little different.
But now, now it's like he's a completely different duck.
Would depression or ducky PTSD cause this behavior in him?

Yes, I think it can. Hes such a pretty duck. Im really hoping for you.

At my last property I had a similar problem. I couldnt figure what was happening and I ended up with only one little one and one older one left. I rent too so I understand. We kept them on a screened porch, a big wooden deck. At night they came in the laundry and I gave them hot water bottles every night in winter because of the cold tiles. We eventually built a little pen at the very edge of the house connected to the deck, but I still herded them into a carrier every single night and brought them inside, and put them into a carrier every morning to put them back out, absolutely nothing else would do. Im lucky to have a secure shed at my new place.

Good luck Poor Pablo.

Sorry my typeing is so erratic I've been up for over 24 hours now.

He's a great spunky duck but he just seems like a shell of the duck I knew.

I am being told that the duck killer is likely a fox or a coon. It climbs over my fence and I nearly saw it last night.

So I guess it's just sugar water
Food available
Warm
And hope for the best then?

How would one knew if a duck had internal bleeding?

Probably see blood in his poop maybe. If you have a game camera you can set it up and probably see exactly what is killing them. Even though all my flock is in secure housing I still turn on the game camera at night just to see what we're up against with preds. I would go for electrolytes more than sugar water, just don't over do on the sugar or you may run into a different set of problems.

No blood in the stool I've been watchibg it closely.

Would a nice warm bath help him out?
