HELP DUCK IN SHOCK I THINK

Not on a Saturday or Sunday. :-/ I could bring him Monday tho. I just can't affored the emergency clinic.

How could he have hurt his neck? No feathers are missing or anything.

Will he perk up after getting food and water in him and if so about after how long?

I'll google the Advil idea thank you so much! I'll try anything at this point to make sure he gets better. I've already been up for over 36 hours lol what's a few more. :)

He could of hurt his neck by maybe getting jumped on by another duck or predator in the mix of things? I hope he gets better keep us updated

One of my ducks got stuck hiding from predator between a piece of fence and retaining wall (only about 6 inches wide) when I got him out of there I thought his leg was broken or extremely badly wounded but when I looked at it there was no wound... Just some sort of muscle injury... and it took him days to recover he couldn't walk for the first couple... Little interest in food and water, but he healed up with time... I hope your guy does too.

This page os amazing and so are the people at petco

A woman told me to mix oatmeal and ped light and feed it to Pablo then chase it with water.

Well I've been doing that while he is in the tub and finally FINALLY he is lifting his head and placing it on the edge of the tub himself. But what's even better HE POOPED it's the first time he has in several hours. So I think he is doing a bit better. By no means is he out of the woods but he has a little bit of energy.

I'm a little affraid to take him out of the tub but he's been in there so long but the rim of the tub gives him a place to rest his head. I guess I'm going to try taking him out and catch a quick 30 min. So before assessing weather to put him back in the tub.

I personally would take him out... That's just me, but when my ducks are scared or hurt they get out of the pool or choose not to swim ( in the case of injury ) but your judgment is best because it's your duck.

I took him out he is resting and still having trouble holding his head. :-( it's heartbreaking

How long does it take to heal from a neck injury?

are you trying the towel to support his head. I wonder if when the pred got in that Pablo may have ran into something inside the run and that's how he got the neck injury. of course we can guess all the time but will never know. Keep offering him his feed. but don't try to force any down his throat it could go into his lungs same with water. Neck injuries take a while to heal. For now just keep on the way you are and watch that when you have him in water he doesn't chill. He looks so sweet in the tub.

Now he is walking around but it's aimless. He won't lay his head down to go to sleep and I can tell he is fighting it. What should I do? I tell ya if it's not one thing it's another.
I was feeding him the pedia light and then he just got up and walked off.

Animals can get stressed and go into shock if they've had particularly traumatic experiences! Best thing to do, is keep him warm, fed and watered, in a DARK room. Hope your poor lil guy pulls through:( x
