HELP DUCK LEG STEPPED ON!!! Emergency!!!

My 3 day old duckling got stepped on by my family member, it's now limping around. It's it broken and is there anyway to treat it!? Please help!

My 3 day old duckling got stepped on by my family member, it's now limping around. It's it broken and is there anyway to treat it!? Please help!

If the duckling is putting weight on the leg it is not broken. If you can feel a break the leg can be splinted. Many times the leg will heal quickly. If the leg is straight and the duckling is just limping that will heal quickly too. Is there a possibility of internal damage to the body? If so there isn't an easy fix. Good luck.

When I pick him up both of his legs seem to move ok, but when he walks he's limping. He walks to get his food so I guess that's a good sign. And also how to tell if there is internal damage? He is eating his food so I can't really tell any sign of damage. Thx for replying it helped me out a lot!

As long as he is eating, drinking and acting like a normal duck - he may just be bruised - I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep him quiet and maybe limit his chances for running around - so he can mend. If at any point his conditions worsen, I would advise a trip to the vet.
