Hi All
I have a Pekin Duck that's roughly 8 lbs. We noticed her limping yesterday and she had 2 swollen lumps on the bottoms of her feet by the heel (one on each foot). One had a callus the other didn't. We moved her to a softer grassy area and made her a lovely bed of straw, and have soaked her in epsom salts. We've dealt with Bumble foot before (different duck), and this looks similar but different. There's no plug to be seen as before. Any ideas what it could be or how to treat it? We tried cutting an cleaning as before, but it was bleeding a lot. That too was different from our other experience. Thanks in advance for any help!

Well, I have not cut feet, and we have treated for bumblefoot several times.

Here is what I know.

Soaking in Epsom salt (which is a laxative, so keep the duck from drinking it) or using E.s. compresses, followed by triple antibiotic ointment without pain killer, two or three times a day to start, then after a week or so, once a day at bedtime. No wrap. That has worked for us.

Haunted55 discovered that using clear - clear - iodine after foot soaks, waiting several days, soaking, and pulling the scab off gently works. Post 22 here https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...umblefoot-treatment-in-ducks/20#post_15463031

Romy had a swelling, no scab, and it turned out to be a tiny splinter.
