Help! Duck not eating...

You can also try cat food. It is a bit more nutritious than cheerios. Most ducks seem to like it. The cheap kibbles & bits is what is recommended in Story's Guide for ducks. Could he be molting?

My ducks love dry dog food Salmon an Pea it’s not something I’d feed them as their feed but I believe they would eat it that way. Might be worth trying.

Yes I leave the food out all day, and no they are separated by chicken wire fence

So they are separated but can still see each other. I’d def try some dry kitten or puppy food small pieces so he can easily eat it. I don’t know what else you can do other that a vet call. He can’t go with out eating long before you’ll lose him.

I know, I’ve tried cat food, doesn’t like it.( they are very picky ) he is only eating lettuce. No Cheerios today.

Is a vet an option? Can you hold him and check his crop smell his breath? Rule out a crop issue.

Yes, what am I looking for. What smell? I did try feeling his crop yesterday, seemed fine.

Sour smelling which would indicate his crop is not working properly. And since he isn't eating it shouldn't even be full morning or evening. If he was eating normally it would be full in the evening and flat in the morning.

Ok, I checked crop and it is empty, no smell in mouth. He weighed 4 pounds yesterday and today is only 2 1/2 pounds. I am so worried, he seems fine, he’s perky doesn’t look sick. I’ve search all over the internet, and can find anything. I just don’t know what to do.

At this point with him losing weight so fast you either take him to a vet or you start tube feeding him. Is he drinking water?
