Okay yall I need some help! My female Pekin duck was found yesterday after noon sprawled out out side her coop in the snow. She will not stand and try’s to walk with her wings and her beak. She was shivering so I brought her inside as her feet and beak were ice cold. I have her on a warm towel on my floor with room temp water with electrolytes. I have offered her food but she refuses. She is drinking water tho. He poop is green and watery which tells me she hasn’t been eating. Do yall think that’s all it is is that she got cold? They do have a small coop with straw that is draft free but they prefer to be out in the snow. Their water is also on the out side of the fence so they have to reach through to drink. She acts like she is very sleepy, but has perked up some since yesterday. I have my other duck in the house to as it’s less then 10° out. The other duck is completely fine. I feed kalmbach duck and goose pellets if that info is needed. I also made a mash type food with her pellets water and Oregano in it. I would like to treat at home as it’s not plausible to spend 1000’s on a duck in vet bills!

That's good feed, but according to her poop, she's just not eating it for some reason.

Is she eating the mash you made? That's what I'd have tried too. If she doesn't eat, you'll probably have to consider syringe feeding.

No other symptoms you can see?

Maybe @Miss Lydia, @Jenbirdee or @Luv Ducks may have an idea.

She is not really eating it either. No other symptoms other than not walking and sleepy. I did draw a Luke warm bath for her and she seemed like her normal happy self but as soon as I took her out she was back to acting sick.

So sorry she is so ill. Is it possible that she got ahold of something that could have made her this sick? Has she always had access to clean unfrozen water? It's so cold where I am that I have to have heated water buckets or else the water would all be frozen. Sorry I don't have any other advice other than like what was already said, she may need to be fed with a tube or syringe.

how old is she?
when did she last lay an egg?
do you have drakes?
is the green poop a bright green, like neon?
do you have any antibiotics on hand?
have you checked her vent?
a soak in luke warm water with some epsom salts may help her feel better ❤️‍🩹
if she hasn’t eaten in 24 hours you may need to tube feed her
i can give you links about tube feeding if you need them

There are short times when the water has ice. It’s changed 2-3 times a day. It’s always possible she could have got something.

She isn’t even a year yet. No eggs no drakes. Bright green poop no antibiotics just oregano vent looks good.

If the water is ice at times and if she has access to feed during that time she might possibly have something caught in her throat and cannot eat. I think tube feeding will be your best best to try to get something down her since she is in this shape. Hopefully she did not ingest something poisonous as then she would need activated charcoal to help her out I would think. Maybe others can chime in and have a better solution.
