some advice required; our helpful neighbour has clipped our ducks wing, one is now bleeding - well it was dripping but now seems to be clotting. I assume he hit the blood feathers - 5 or 6 - other than keeping an eye on him, the duck that is, is there anything I need to do?
He's had a few grapes and doesn't seem too stressed wandering about, but I'm really upset!

Thank you!

Yikes. Do you have styptic powder? If not, just apply pressure to stop the bleeding. With a duck, I'd be worried that getting wet will break the clot(s). If it keeps bleeding, pull the bleeding feather. The follicle might bleed a little but it won't be nearly as bad and will clot better.

I've just been out to the ducks pen; the bleeding has stopped and has clotted/clogged up at the end of five (my poor duck!) feathers.

He is still ok in himself.

I can pen the ducks away from the pond so I can keep him out of water for a day or two. They are used to a drinker that they can't get into as well so that shouldn't be an issue. Plus I'm going to Mick out their hut before they go in tonight so everything is clean for them.

Thank you for the help and advice today folks, I've lurked for quite some time and was intending on signing up, just not in such panicked circumstance!!
