Help! Duckling bleeding!

Hello, everyone. I am sad to say that I decided to put her down. She was not doing well at all. She was dehydrated, and her leg was deformed from the way she was positioned. I did not want her to suffer although I loved her greatly. I had my boyfriend put her down humanely. I feel horrible and am extremely upset.
Thanks for sharing your journey, it takes courage to put it all out there on the internet. It will help others learn and you did the best you could. Thanks and I hope you feel peace about what happened

Thats so good of you, The B complex vitamins you get at feed stores are great for weaklings and the whole flock tooView attachment 2047467

Or pharmacy B complex vits are good too but its not as concentratedView attachment 2047468

What breeds did you get?
I’ll have to look into that thanks!
I got mixed breeds. I hatched out two of my own successfully so far and believe on is a full mallard. The other is a mallard or Rouen mixed with a buff

Thank you :) I am sad, but I am happy to know that she is not suffering. I’m upset at the fact that maybe she’d be alive if I didn’t assist. Or maybe she would still be dead. It sucks not knowing what was right

There isn’t any way to ever know. I had to put down a chicken yesterday and I wonder the same thing.. I’m sure it’s normal to feel that way

what a sweet mix!

This one looks like a silver appleyard except the bill is a different color, its going to be a real treat seeing how they all feather out

You loved her. You did the very best you could with the information and advice you had. And in the end you chose ending her suffering over trying to force some kind of win/survival. I admit that in your situation I'd probably have kept going (and kept her suffering) out of sheer pig-headed determination to save what really couldn't be saved.

That’s what I was doing, but at the end of the day, I think she was suffering. She was so full of life, but was not developed correctly. She would have suffered greatly if I had let her live like that. It was not fair to her
