Help! Duckling dying.

I believe the bird has made it 48 hours? CONGRATS as long as you make sure it's eating and drinking I give you a good shot of having a healthy little duckling!

Eating and drinking may be easier said than done, though. So, head to your local vet and pick up one of these http://www.mypetchicken.com/catalog/Chicken-Health/20-ml-Feeding-Syringe-p331.aspx

Chances are they would sell you one for about a buck! Maybe just bring your iPhone if you have one open that page (mypetchicken.com under Chicken Health) and ask if they can sell you one of those for a very sick bird. I would ask for more like 5 though, maybe so you can use one for water, and the other four for food until the bird gets better. For example, for the first day use the first syringe for food, and the second day the second, until birdie is strong enough to eat on his/her own. And keep me updated! I hope it makes it!

Then put water in it and make sure the bird is hydrated, pretty self explanatory how to do that. You might want to try some yogurt put in a blender with some of the feed she/he gets. Then gently squeeze the food out of the end and let the bird decide whether to swallow. If it doesn't, it may choke, so be sure to be there with a tissue to carefully wipe it out.

Good luck.

She's still alive. She's about the same. She's weak though. I'm guessing that she won't make it, but I'm trying. Sometimes if she tries to move she falls onto her side, so I pick her back up. Right now she has a towel around her helping her sit up straight. She does drink about 5 sips of water when I hold water in front of her. I'm not sure if she's eating, but she has food pieces on her bill, so I think that's good. She pooped on me yesterday and it was a dark brown or blackish color. At least she pooped though! Here's a cute pic of them from today: http://s1079.photobucket.com/user/C...0004A5ED822E8_zps15ef4c07.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0

Today she stood up for about 5-10 seconds I think :)

Well, I'm happy to report that this morning the duckling was still sitting up a bit. I then took the towel and wrapped it around her to balance her more. I put food in front of her, and for the 1st time since she got sick, I saw her eat! She ate a pretty good amount of it, too! It was like 5 bites or so :) She's still drinking when I hold water in front of her! So, no, I guess I'm not gonna syringe feed her!

I'm still thinking that she's not gonna make it, probably. I mean, I definitely hope she lives, but I'm not quite sure.
