Help! Duckling Not Able To Move

They said they can give me a refund or re-ship the ones that were lost, but I am not going to have them re-shipped I cant handle anymore heartbreak. And as far as asking them why they thought it was a good idea to ship them in such bad weather, which cost the lives of at least 14 baby birds, they did not have an answer besides for that it was a shipping standard to include all the chicks

That's just unbelievable that they would do this knowing how frigid the weather is and how unreliable the USPS is. I wouldn't have them reship either. I know most hatcheries use chicks as packing peanuts for heat but how could they expect those babies to stay warm is beyond me. I mean I don't run a hatchery and I have enough common sense and compassion to know you don't ship live anything this time of year.

Not trying to start any arguments but hatcheries are businesses and if you order they ship. If you want to wait until warmer weather then you can and should request a later ship date, otherwise most ship ASAP. I got 20 chicks in the middle of a cold snap like this last year, all but 3 made it so they can and do survive. Hope you have a better experience next time. It is hard watching the little ones struggle.
