I just got our chicks in the mail today and one of them (an easter egger) will not open her eyes. I tried to gently open them using a warm, wet paper towel (I thought they might be stuck shut) and found she is capable of opening them - but keeps them closed. She is peeping (loudly!) and has had some water, but no food. She is walking around the brooder, but bumps into the walls, feeder and the other chicks. I am worried that she might die (especially if she doesnt eat). Should I separate her from the rest of the flock? I dont want her to die and suffer a long, slow death (by starvation). What can I do? Thanks for any advice you have for this first time chicken mama.
