Right now my turkey chick of almost 3 months is dying.
I had gotten two turkey chicks and the other one is healthy and big -- this one is a runt, barely half the size of the other. The birds were fine when I brought them inside yesterday, but the little one has always been sickly (sneezing when younger, etc), failure to thrive. I came in and found it lying in the shavings with the other turkey pecking on it. It's cold to the touch and mottled black all over. It's feathers have been pulled out. What could've cause this? Blackhead disease?
I'm going to go down to the barn to put it out of its misery. But I'm bummed.
