Help-Edit-Pekin egg, what if I don't see the bill in the air sack?

I edited the first post with a new question, but basically i think I'm suppose to be seeing a bill in the air sack and I'm not. Just wandering if that's a bad thing, or maybe sometimes these guys hatch late or something..or maybe he's dead. that would be a bummer.

What day are you on now? This is a chicken forum, but there are a lot of duck people here too.

Today is day 27, expected to hatch day 28, tomorrow, Sat. June 7th.

Then I would certainly not start to panic yet. If he has not broken into his air cell he is just not ready yet, most likely. I don't know a lot about ducks (read nothing really) but I know the humidity has to be really high...I think there are some who mist their eggs but don't quote me on this...maybe some of the many duck people will jump in here and help you.

Ok, I just don't know how long I should wait. I'm not feeling very optimistic about it, but I hope it'll be ok.

I had a dream that I was running back and forth from computer to egg waiting to see the bill in the air sack. Eventually I saw it and then I went to sleep, and then I woke up and I couldn't tell if it was a dream or not, so I checked the egg and still no bill. That was kind of disappointing.

Give it a few more days. Sometimes they hatch late. Day 28 is just a "general" date to start hatching. Good luck, and keep us posted!!! Steph
