And one
My girls only wanted the shell. They were not interested in the inside. If there is no yolk around I think it's safe to say she didn't eat it?disappeared while I was sitting by the cage painting.
I know! and you think there would be some mess on her beak and feathers too! or at least SOME evidence if it happened within minutes! My girls only wanted the shell. They were not interested in the inside. If there is no yolk around I think it's safe to say she didn't eat it?
Idk? I went through the ENTIRE cage! really turned up the sawdust (pineshavings) and checked under every obstacle.... she just laid a new egg, I am watching it closely also I found a small pice of pine shavings, but I can't tell if its yolk or poop on itExpert hider?
nope, she was running around. Was she moving around when you searched the cage? Could she have been sitting on the egg or had it hidden in her feathers? I've never had broody quail just broody chickens but sometimes they hide an egg between their wing and their body.
Do you have a nanny cam or similar you could set up to record her activity?nope, she was running around.
