Hi everyone. Today is hatch day and Mama has decided to start wandering around. She has left the eggs MANY times this morning and they are exposed to direct sunlight. I gathered them up, wrapped them in towels and put them under my shirt.

One fought its way out as I held it. The other eggs are only pipped. How long can this take? Any suggestions for keeping the chicks warm so I can move about freely today?

Chickens or Ducks? is there anyway to put mama up with the eggs so she has to sit on them? they need a certain amt. of humidity to hatch at this stage or the membrane will dry out and get hard and they will die in the shell. I would catch that mama and let her finish the job. Dog crate, small rabbit hutch anything like that will work.
