I guess I will have to set them upright then... :/ they will be in a different incubator than the chicken eggs... Thank you for the tips! Incubating can be so darn tricky!!!!!
Our last shipped eggs stayed almost upright the whole time. We put the eggs in an egg carton, and placed the carton on top of another carton with bottle caps to keep them at a slight angle. Then, when it was time to turn them, we flipped the egg carton around so they were at a slight angle on the other side. We did this 3 times/day until lockdown, then we removed the cartons, and set them flat on the bottom of the incubator. We've had a pretty good hatch rate this way, and it made it easier turning by hand.
This is the best way to keep fertile eggs and this is my opinion. I use a simple egg turner. I have had the best hatch rates this way. I have mailed eggs to people and had 23 outa 24 hatch. That's mailed eggs. I don't touch the eggs unless I spray my hand with brinsea disinfectant first. I also give them cooked yoke that I removed from my boiled eggs um um egg salad sandwich,, and I add it to there food and mash it in. That helps them provide a better fertile egg a healther chick I have found this threw research.
