HELP!!! EMERGENCY!!! WHERE IS THE EGG?

hu.gif
I don't know for sure, but the cracking may not be a bad thing if the egg's been stuck.
I have an Orp hen that's been having internal laying issues and once the egg cracks she's able to pass the shell. It rolls up. Only once have I had to clean part of it from her vent, and that was the first time.
Lately she's been laying actual eggs again, but they are much smaller than they used to be.

Not sure if this helps you in your worries, but I hope so!

Also, I never gave Thing One antibiotics. Just TLC, a warm bath when she was mucky, and some extra treats (BOSS, meat scraps or scrambled eggs).

maybe a warm soak will help things along? I am so sorry you are going through this, maybe you can massage her abdomen and help it to move further down where you could reach it?

Not gonna say it...not gonna say it....not gonna say it...

Boy! You know better than to stick something up there!!!

OK, now that I've unleashed my fury, has she ever had this non-laying issue before?

Sorry to hear about your girl.. My EE did that and I just put mineral oil in her vent with an eye dropper and she passed it that night it wasnt broken to my knowledge...
Keep us posted I'll be sending you some egg shooting vibes today

Yes. She did it around the stock show. We had to give her Calciboost to get her to lay.

I wouldn't have stuck anything in there but the egg is cracked, and its been over a week that she's been holding.

Do you have any tums? That is calcium as well!! Crush one and give it to her if you have any. If you don't, most convience stores will have a small roll of them for less than $1. At least they do here.

And I realize this isn't funny, and I do hope you all the best with your hen...

But when I read the title of the thread, the first thing that came into mind, was..... the egg is up the chicken's butt!!
