Help! Female Pekin duck missing!

Hi. I'm having trouble wrapping my head around what has happened to my female duck. She was here one day and then the next morning she was gone. I do not keep my ducks up because the stay in the yard and have free range. I have come to the conclusion that she may not come back but just a thought; could she be nesting and hiding out somewhere?I have two other males along with her and they are fine and not acting any way at all. She has been missing for almost a week and no sign of an attack. Plus I would think my male would of been the one who would of been attacked because he was very protective over her and my other male. Do ducks hide out when nesting? Would I have seen her by now? I'm so upset she was a good size duck. She was 18 lbs and very healthy.

Yes. Ducks will hide their nests and hopefully that is what happened. When brooding hens come off the nest it's only for a short time each day so it isn't the least bit odd for you to have not seen her. Good luck.
