View attachment 1741088 Im on day 22 and I have 9 chicks have hatched with no assistance. Some took over 24 hours after popping to fully hatch. I took them out of the incubator as it’s been over 36 hours since the 8 have hatched and left the 9th as he still hasn’t fluffed out. The incubator is starting to smell like pee since the other chicks have been in there so long. Will this harm the other unhatched chicks at all? Also I have this one egg that I can see the feathers but not the beak of the chick. Do I assist the hatch? I do see movement now and again but the zip is in a weird spot. Any help would be appreciated.
I did see breathing and stuff earlier just didn’t really seem like they were breathing before we went to bed last night. I’m hoping they made some progress overnight and they hatch today.Do you hear chirping or see breathing.. it takes a lot of energy to hatch.. I am new to hatching also. I had three on my first hatched I ended up helping but they had stopped moving and their breathing was slowing down.. the membrane on their eggs was real think they couldn’t get threw. One didn’t make it because I wasn’t home to help.
I just cracked/chipped the shell clear around, then took tweezers carefully around to slice the membrane. Their breathing picked up and they did the rest by themselves...
