Help! first time hatching!

@rcrisantos , after you noticed they where upside down you pout them right side up in the turner, right? On what day did you put them on their sides?

-Kathy

Right, but it was only a matter of about 45mins tops before I laid them down on their sides.

400

This is how they were (upside-down)

So they were already past three weeks of developing.. Hum interesting..

Yea, I'm sure some were, I'm not sure how many or how often she laid because she was starting to bury them in bedding and I didn't want to disturb her nest. Those early ones could have been the 3 that didn't make it ??

Awww...sorry about your baby

But good info to know. So ducks eggs...laying down from day one! All types of duck eggs? I think I just realized why my duck hatch failed last year

I had them in the turner from day one and took them out before lockdown. I have never had my duck eggs in a turner because I only had a turner for my chicken and quail eggs. Bought another last year for the ducks

Bad move...NONE of mine hatched

I have tried that many many times, and just couldn't under stand what the heck I was doing wrong, until I watched and learned from my girls and tried to duplicate exactly what they were doing. That's when the Lay me down hit.. My girls lay them down soooo I tried it and success BEGAN.. LOL

Hum well the one lasted 15 days for me before it quit, my second is still OK. All nine though are and have been doing great since day one. HUM. perhaps I need to try more then two eggs on this experiment.

These guys are quite the fighters, despite doing mostly everything wrong! They were upside-down till about day 20 them I flipped the right side up, but for less than 45mins which was when I laid them down
